Forsyth Park Inn
Savannah, GA 31401
In the 1890's, this inn began as a private home and was owned by Canadian sea captain Aaron Flint "Rudder" Churchill. He died in the home and it was then converted to a boarding house and then an apartment building. It became an inn in the 1980's. It has been rumored that the captain's adopted niece, Lottie, 14, haunts the inn to this day. The legend goes as follows - the captain's wife Lois had a sister named Anna, who came to live at the home with them. Lottie was shocked to one day find Anna and the captain in an embrace. As she was very angry, she decided to poison Anna's tea with oleander from their garden. After Anna passed, Lottie found out that Anna was actually her real mother! Hearing this news, Lottie was sent to an asylum and it troubled her to the very end of her life. People say that Lottie's spirit can be seen in the garden and other locations at the inn, but she usally disappears from sight pretty quickly. She sometimes plays pranks with objects as well.

On my last night in Room Five "Lottie" opened my door about two feet for me. This door is 12 feet tall and heavy. No breeze or air conditioner is going to move that door. I didn't realize the place was haunted until I asked the hosts. I thanked her as the gesture was purely non scary. But, I'm not into ghosts. It scared me.

I have stayed there twice with my sister's..Both times in room 4...a lovely room! Bathroom door opens and closes on it's own...feet tickled in the middle of the night! Both myself and my sister experienced this! The second time time thing! Although, I had 2 other sisters staying upstairs and they had the room lights going on and off as well the stereo they brought with was turned on and off and one speaker turned up missing.....when able I will upload pics. of orbs all over and the wildest light at the top landing on main staircase...Lottie? I had asked her to show herself before taking the pic. I saw this place on the Travel Channel....We stayed there as it was the only place to house 5 sisters!
