In 1969, Methodists of Georgia placed the Statue of John Wesley in Reynolds Square. The area around the statue has said to be pretty mysterious. Those who take photos of the statue have found that eerie hazy patterns and weird colors appear in the pictures. Some believe that the disturbances stem from the fact that a building nearby was once a hospital for patients with malaria. Bodies were burned in the middle of the square to prevent the spread of the disease. It has been said that some of the cremated bodies were not actually dead and that the tormented souls of those who burned alive still remain in the area.
