This hanging site is off of Padgett Road, near Starr's Mill and once belonged to Old Man Padgett. Rumor says that long ago there was an execution taking place and the man broke loose and hanged Old Man Padgett from the railroad bridge that is nearby. The tracks are no longer in use but phantom trains have been heard and Padgett's ghost has been seen, rumored to be searching for his killer.
